Trucksafe holds 4th annual Fleet Compliance Bootcamp

ree

The 4th Annual Trucksafe Fleet Compliance Bootcamp, held September 3-4, 2025, at the Embassy Suites in Indianapolis, IN, proved to be an outstanding fleet management conference dedicated to enhancing DOT compliance training for trucking professionals. This two-day trucking safety event brought together industry experts, fleet managers, insurance professionals, safety leaders, and drivers to dive deep into regulatory requirements, innovative safety/compliance technologies, and best practices for maintaining compliance in the fast-paced world of commercial trucking. With a focus on actionable insights for driver qualification, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and more, the bootcamp delivered high-value content.

Event Highlights

The bootcamp kicked off on Wednesday, September 3, with a productive day of DOT compliance education. The morning sessions covered essential topics like "Who is Regulated & Who Regulates" and "DOT Registration & General Compliance," providing foundational knowledge for fleet operators navigating federal trucking regulations. The agenda shifted to more focused topics like "Driver Qualification," including a group exercise after lunch to reinforce learning on hiring and managing qualified drivers.

A standout feature was the afternoon presentation, "Advancing Fleet Safety Through Innovative Technology with Fleetworthy," featuring Fleetworthy's Drivewyze and Haul services. This session explored cutting-edge tools for improving fleet safety and compliance, highlighting how technology can streamline weigh station bypasses and reduce operational risks in trucking.

The day wrapped up with an in-depth look at "Drug & Alcohol Testing," followed by a lively Bootcamp Reception featuring dinner, drinks, and music. This networking opportunity allowed attendees to connect with peers in the trucking industry, fostering discussions on real-world challenges in fleet management.

On Thursday, September 4, the event continued by delving into "Hours of Service," complete with a practical group exercise to tackle ELD log auditing. Later sessions addressed "Vehicle Maintenance" and "DOT Enforcement," equipping participants with strategies to avoid violations and minimize exposure.

The Bootcamp concluded with an inspiring talk, "Smarter Together: How AI and Human Insight Are Shaping the Future of Fleet Safety," presented by Motive. This forward-looking discussion on AI-driven fleet telematics and predictive maintenance underscored the role of technology in elevating trucking safety standards.

One participant shared, "The Compliance Bootcamp was a great experience. The instructors were knowledgeable and shared useful real-world examples. I left with actionable insights to improve our compliance efforts. Highly recommend for anyone in fleet management!" Another noted, "Great content that I will be able to take and use. Thank you!" Many appreciated the trucking safety focus and hands-on approach: "I really enjoyed the bootcamp. The material covered was very much appropriate for our industry. The presentations were effective, and the handouts were great for following along and as references for later." Networking stood out too, as one attendee said, "I enjoyed it. I learned some things, and liked the chance to network with others in the trucking industry."

Trucksafe would like to thank all of the sponsors who made this year's Bootcamp possible: Fleetworthy, Drivewyze by Fleetworthy, Haul by Fleetworthy, Motive, Drivers Legal Plan, CerteDrive, TVC Pro Driver, eRegs, and Childress Law.
